In adherence to our practice policy, we prioritise responsible prescribing and, therefore, refrain from prescribing opioids, restricted medications (S8's), or any drugs associated with addiction for ongoing management. Additionally, it is crucial to emphasise that our after hours clinic is committed to providing appropriate care and maintaining a safe environment for all patients. If there are concerns of drug-seeking behaviour, our staff will refer such cases back to the patient's regular doctor for further evaluation and management. For your convenience, you may take your prescription to your nearest chemist to have it filled.

Does the After Hours Clinic provide medical certificates?

Medical certificates can be requested at the time of the consultation in the walk in After Hours Clinic. Medical certificates are always at the doctors discretion.

How do I know if I need a After Hours Doctor? Or if I need to attend the Emergency Department?

Symptoms that warrant immediate attention but are not limited to include, unconsciousness, severe chest pain, intense breathing difficulties, uncontrollable bleeding, or if you have been involved in a major accident. How will my regular GP know if I have attended the After Hours Clinic?

Can I provide my private health insurance or Medicare card on arrival at the After Hours Clinic?

While private health insurance does not cover services provided at the After-Hours Clinic, it is important to note that Medicare rebates are applicable. This means that you can benefit from Medicare's reimbursement system, ensuring that a portion of your expenses will be reimbursed back to you.

After Hours Clinic accepts patient transfer via Ambulance. Once an initial assessment has been conducted and our experience team advises that you require hospitalisation, we will assist you with your admission to the emergency department.
